SIS has provided a full
range of implementation services to St.
Paul Public Schools for the
implementation of Oracle's Government
Financials (OGF) software. St. Paul
Public Schools (SPPS) is the second
largest school district in the state of
Minnesota with approximately 45,000
students, over 70 schools, and operating
budget of approximately $500,000,000, and
extensions administrative and support
operations.
SIS was the prime contractor in the
implementation of Oracle's General
Ledger, Purchasing, accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable/Cash Receipts, and
Fixed Assets modules. The District has
also obtained Oracle's Public Sector
Budgeting, Grants Management and
Inventory modules for implementation
during a subsequent phase. As part of the
comprehensive system implementation, SIS
worked closely with SPPS to:
* Revise and streamline their chart of
accounts.
* Review the existing business practices
and develop and implement strategies to
streamline business practices.
* Configure the system according to SPPS
defined business and accounting
requirements
* Implement revised workflows and
approval herarchies
* Develop reports and reporting tools to
report to the State of Minnesota in
accordance to the State's reporting
requirements.
* Design and develop interfaces to
non-Oracle payroll and human resources
systems.
* Provide extensive training to District
trainers and support them in the training
of end user staff
* Support user staff during the initial
cutover of the system
